On December 15, AmCham Real Estate Committee held an Open Event on “Urban Planning: Overview of Tashkent, Urban Policy of The City, New Tashkent Project”.
▶️Anna Olevskaya, Partner, Marketing and Business Development Director, CMWP Uzbekistan started the event introducing recently established AmCham Real Estate Committee, its goals, mission, and future activities.
▶️Denis Sokolov, FRICS Partner, General Director, CMWP Uzbekistan, AmCham Real Estate Committee Chairman and Alexey Letunovsky, Head of Research, CMWP Uzbekistan presented the recent report on Urban Planning of Tashkent that included information about population density of the city, current land use division, land surface temperature, and other useful data and insights.
✔️At the Open Event the CMWP experts provided an overview of the New Tashkent Project, which is expected to become a new business and administrative center.
Potential risks and issues of the project were discussed during the Q&A session after the presentation. It was noted that the main potential issues in the implementation of the New Tashkent Project could be the poor integration of New and Old Tashkent, delayed relocation of governmental institutions, and low interest from private sector and investors due to lack or limited amount of publicly available information on the Project.
At the final part of the event, speakers encouraged all interested attendees, member-companies to join the initiative and participate in the AmCham Real Estate Сommittee’s future activities.
