TASHKENT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Tashkent International School educates students to be internationally-minded, think
creatively, reason critically and communicate effectively.
PYP. The elementary school at Tashkent International School uses curriculum specifically
developed for international primary education. Adopted by the International Baccalaureate
Organization (IBO) as their worldwide Primary Years Programme (PYP), the curriculum
leads to the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6 through 10 and the International
Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma for grades 11 and 12.
MYP. Students in grades 6-10 are at a critical stage of development as they are undergoing
dramatic physical, personal, social and intellectual changes. They are also becoming more
aware of the wider world around them. It is a time of questioning and challenging, which can be
exciting, confusing and a bit frightening all at the same time. The IB Middle Years Programme
(MYP) aims to help students through this crucial time by fostering a sense of belonging and a
positive attitude to learning. Learning how to learn, how to evaluate information and
communicate their learning are important to the program.
DP. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging, two-year,
pre-university programme primarily aimed at students ages 16 to 19. The IB Diploma
Programme leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.
