AmCham Uzbekistan along with the Ministry, on May 3rd, 2024 held a Business Breakfast “Investing in Women’s Entrepreneurship: Balancing Profitability and Social Responsibility” as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
Key notes:
🔼The market size of unbanned women enpreneurship in Uzbekistan is USD 4 bln.
🔼With only 2% Uzbekistan lags behind comparing to world’s average 30% female funded IT Start-Ups.
🔼Of current loans, only 31% are women. And 71% perfomance of loans are women.
🔼Women are more responsible, multitasking, and hardworking, however lack:
Lack of hard skills ( financial and managerial skills)
Lack of soft skills ( delegation of tasks and often micromanagement).
Lack of leadership skills- strategy – where the business is going
According to EBRD study, development of hard and soft skills of women enterprenuers significtantly improve perfomance of their business.
Cultural and social norms. We are all victims of our traditions. Men cannot do anything if a woman doesn’t want to change. Educate our children properly in the family is important.
