HR Committee Business Game hosted by Calsberg Data: май 01 2025

On May 1, the AmCham HR Committee in collaboration with Beeline Uzbekistan hosted an engaging HR Game session at UzCarlsberg

The session titled “New Competency Model” introduced an innovative format to communicate corporate competencies through a mix of online platform tasks, business game mechanics, and team competitions.

Beeline Uzbekistan’s T&D team showcased how gamification can be used to promote corporate values and enhance in-person learning, as well as how aligning competencies with company values drives business performance and helps achieve KPIs. 

The game concluded with a vibrant networking evening and a degustation.

Financial & Banking Committee, in partnership with EY, held a seminar on tax risks in financial transactions

The event featured expert-led sessions on identifying tax risks in loan agreements, deducting interest expenses, applying international tax treaties, and managing VAT in financial deals

Speakers Sergey Bachmanov and Kamoliddin Babaev from EY shared practical insights and real-world examples to help professionals navigate financial and tax regulations with confidence.

The seminar brought together finance and legal professionals from 20 member companies.

Real Estate Committee Meeting

On April 29, the AmCham Real Estate Committee held a meeting led by Committee Chair Denis Sokolov, General Director of CMWP Uzbekistan, at the AmCham Office.

Key topics included market trends from late 2024 to Q1 2025, evolving tenant and landlord expectations, insights from UzBuild 2025, Retail Market and a look ahead to the Tashkent Investment Forum.

Seminar-workshop “Corporate Governance: Current Issues in Compliance and Internal Audit”with KPMG and Central Bank

AmCham Uzbekistan Corporate Governance Committee, led by KPMG and supported by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, organized a half-day seminar-workshop on “Corporate Governance: Current Issues in Compliance and Internal Audit.”

The April 4th half-day event, held at Hyatt Regency Tashkent, became a platform to shape up a solid Central Asia Compliance Platform.

The agenda included two expert-led panel discussions of public and private sectors: “The Role of Compliance in the Corporate Governance System as a Second Line of Defense” and “The Role of Internal Audit in the Corporate Governance System as a Third Line of Defense.”

The newly launched manual “Corporate Governance,” developed by KPMG and the Association of Independent Directors of Kazakhstan, is a helpful source to be used by directors.

The event gathered over 60 professionals from 9 banks, 30 corporations, professional compliance bodies, and a regulator, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. The roundtable covered the evolving role of compliance and internal audit within corporate governance frameworks. Industry experts shared insights on regulatory expectations and regional trends.

Business Mixer with American University of Technologies in Tashkent

On April 30, AmCham Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the American University of Technology (AUT), held a Business Mixer at the AUT campus in Tashkent

The event featured opening remarks by Said Irandoust, Founding Rector of AUT, followed by an interactive session and a presentation of AUT’s award-winning student project. Guests also enjoyed a campus tour and a networking reception with live music and refreshments.

AmCham Annual Gneral Assembly 20205

AmCham Uzbekistan successfully held the Annual General Assembly and election of the Board of Directors 2025.

The event brought together over 70 participants representing 50 member companies from the AmCham community.

The agenda included presentation of the 2024 achievements and plans for 2025 by the Executive Director and 10 AmCham Committee chairs.

Special recognition was extended to the 2024 Board of Directors, with appreciation to Puneet Tandon for outstanding leadership and many years of support of AmCham Uzbekistan.

The assembly concluded with election of BOD 2025 and with professional networking among members of the business community.

HR Committee seminar “Recent changes in Labour Legislation” with Mikhail Gasanov

AmCham Uzbekistan’s HR Committee, in collaboration with Beeline (LLC Unitel), organized a seminar “Recent changes in Labour Legislation” with Mikhail Gasanov.

Over 50 HR professionals from 40 member companies joined the half day seminar on March 14 at Hyatt Regency.

During the seminar, Mikhail Gasanov, head of the working group on the new Labor Code, provided valuable insights into key legislative updates, labor contract nuances, and pressing HR questions. The event featured a very active Q&A session, where attendees engaged in meaningful discussions and received expert answers to their concerns.

January Monthly Meeting

AmCham Uzbekistan and US Embassy Consular Section Expedited Business Visa program was announced at AmCham Monthly Meeting on January 16, 2025.

Ian A. Turner, US Embassy Consular Chief  spoke at the first AmCham Uzbekistan Monthly Meeting in 2025 held at the Hyatt Regency Tashkent. Over 50 C-level executives of AmCham member companies were present.

The highlight of the evening became the announcement of the Expedited Business Visa appointment program for members of AmCham Uzbekistan.

Participants also leart about work of the Consular Section, onlie appointments, interview waiver among others.

During the Q&A session members could clarify US visa related questions.

The panelists talked about increasing the investment attractiveness of the local capital market for foreign investors, the peculiarities of the legal regime of the “regulatory sandbox”, the use of incentive systems for investors and issuers, as well as the promotion of innovations in the field of financial technologies.
