On August 6, AmCham Uzbekistan had the pleasure of hosting Diana Campbell, Artistic Director of Bukhara Biennial, for an exclusive presentation in the framework of the CSR Committee Meeting
As one of the largest multidisciplinary contemporary art events in the region, the Bukhara Biennial will officially launch in September 2025 in Bukhara, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Biennial, led by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation under Commissioner Gayane Umerova, will feature:
70+ site-specific installations
160+ artists – half from Uzbekistan and Central Asia
Collaborations with local craftsmen and women
10 weeks of exhibitions, masterclasses, performances, and public dialogue
During the meeting, AmCham members learned about the Biennial’s mission, distinguished program, and ongoing preparations, including the curatorial approach, featured artists, and the selection of thought-provoking contemporary artworks that will be showcased across historical venues in Bukhara.
